Run Your Own Capital Campaign

A six-session Empowered Fundraiser working series with Anne Murphy, for the organization that will lead its own fundraising and donor engagement campaign.

What this is

Six working sessions where you build your capital campaign plan with Anne, piece by piece. Not a template you fill in alone. You bring your own prospects and your own board, and across the series you build the gift table, sort the pipeline, put AI and other time-saving strategies to work, write the board plan, and get coached on the ask before you make it. You walk out with a living draft your organization will run.

This is the affordable path for an organization that has been handed a capital campaign and cannot bring on full counsel to run the whole thing. It draws on Anne's facilities campaign experience and shapes around your own organization.

The shift

You walk in having been handed a capital campaign you never ran. You walk out leading it.

A living draft of the plan, a gift table that proves the number, a pipeline you are already working, and the ask practiced before you sit down with the donor.

Who this is for

  • You have a limited budget and cannot bring on counsel to run the whole campaign
  • You have the bandwidth to lead it yourself, or a staff member who can
  • You have donors to start from, even a short list

Who this is not for

  • You want someone to run the campaign for you — that is campaign counsel, a different engagement, and we should talk about that instead
  • You have no prospects to build from yet — start with a readiness conversation first

The six sessions

1

Readiness and the Number

Build a draft gift table from your own prospects, with a fast read on your board and your case for support. You leave knowing whether your number is reachable before you commit to it.

2

The Pipeline

Sort your donors into waves by readiness, separating what a donor can give from how close the relationship is. You leave with a clear answer to who you see first.

3

Using AI in Fundraising and Donor Engagement

Build an AI-assisted research workflow and a first donor communication in your own voice, sized to your team — with the donor-data cautions that come before any tool.

4

The Board

Build a board activation plan with giving tiers and named roles, using the JET principles and the open-doors reframe, so board members introduce and steward instead of dreading the ask.

5

The Solicitation

Prep a visit you have coming up and role-play the ask, coached live, with language for when a donor hesitates. You leave with a visit brief and ask language for your next solicitations.

6

The Plan and the Launch

Assemble everything from the prior sessions into one written campaign plan, with a 90-day launch checklist and the policies every campaign needs, including how your annual fund runs alongside the campaign without competing.

What you leave the series with

The investment

$10,000

The full six-session series. It sits well below full campaign counsel, because you are paying for the teaching and the plan, not a done-for-you campaign.
