In this session we will discuss communication around donor expectations, personal boundaries, and safety in the fundraising profession. We'll outline red flags and offer ideas for maintaining personal boundaries and safety while building long-lasting relationships.
Fundraisers often feel pressure to say yes to people who have power over their jobs. People-pleasing can prevent us from building real, lasting, trusting relationships. We will practice different ways to support others, while also prioritizing our own well-being to nurture long-term relationships.
Leadership is not about titles. It's about the role you play on your fundraising team. We'll identify opportunities for you to lead with authenticity.
We'll delve into money mindset traps for fundraisers. Traps that prevent us from serving our donors and our institutions, but that we can address in our own thought work.
In this 90-minute fundraising workshop, you will:
We'll identify self-limiting beliefs and challenge the ones getting in our way as fundraisers so we can focus on growth and achievement.
We'll workshop strategies to reduce imposter syndrome to thrive as a successful fundraiser.
We'll identify some of the most common causes of burnout in fundraising, strategies for supporting your journey to overcome burnout, and opportunities to support colleagues and friends experiencing burnout.
If we understand our tendencies as introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts, we can leverage our unique skills to inspire others. We’ll identify three ways to connect, support, and inspire colleagues to partner with you on fundraising.
In this workshop, we’ll identify time-wasting traps, create systems that scale, and discuss how to manage "expected unexpecteds" so you can thrive within the day-to-day pressures of a career in development.
Our series on public speaking empowers development staff to communicate their ideas in a variety of settings–Zoom, in person, in front of a big group, within a small team, at a board meeting, or in a donor visit.
We'll identify common triggers and how to manage them so you can fundraise without fear or feeling awkward.
Learn communication techniques for working with the leaders who shape your fundraising priorities that will:
The way we measure fundraising affects which activity gets done and whose contributions get recognized. Anne examines how portfolio assignments and unequal experiences with donors influence results. She helps leaders reconsider what their metrics reward and involve frontline fundraisers in setting expectations that lead to effective fundraising and equitable career advancement.
Fundraisers write in several voices, including their own and those of the leaders they represent. Anne teaches how to use writing samples to develop a voice profile and give AI the context it needs for a useful draft. Participants work through revisions while examining accuracy and consent in the stories they tell about people.
Planned giving involves long relationship histories and deeply personal decisions. Anne connects responsible AI use to preparing for donor conversations and understanding opportunities across a planned giving program. The teaching includes communication and the preparation of institutional leaders who join gift conversations, with experienced professional judgment guiding the use of donor information.
A small gathering can give donors a closer connection to what an organization does, and give its leaders useful insight. Anne teaches the planning and facilitation of a salon series, from choosing the purpose and inviting guests to preparing the discussion. Follow-up turns what people shared into individual conversations and next steps.
For organizations preparing to lead their campaign in-house, Anne guides developing a plan they can run themselves. The process starts with readiness and a gift table informed by their own prospects. It continues through donor prioritization and board involvement, with preparation for solicitations and a launch plan that accounts for ongoing annual fundraising.

A useful gift conversation begins well before the meeting and continues through the follow-up. Anne teaches her approach to securing conversations, preparing everyone involved, and asking questions that help donors make decisions. The method extends across the portfolio, with AI applications for meeting preparation and contact reports that preserve what colleagues need to know next.
